IMDb: "RRR" most popular Indian film, "Panchayat" top web series

Mumbai (The Hawk): S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus "RRR," which took the top slot, was followed by "The Kashmir Files," the only Hindi language film on the list. As a result, nine out of the 10 most popular Indian films on IMDb are from southern states.

According to director Rajamouli, "RRR is a tale of friendship that everyone can connect to, told in a way that's influenced by ancient Indian storytelling, and is a film I hold very close to my heart." "RRR" was named the IMDb Most Popular Indian Film of 2022.

Added him: "IMDb deserves all the credit for the honour, and I want to express my gratitude to viewers everywhere for their support and admiration. The entire cast and crew deserve to be celebrated since they toiled tirelessly to produce the magic that spectators saw on film."

The Yash-starring film "K.G.F: Chapter 2" came in third place on the list, followed by "Vikram," which starred Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahad Faasil, and Suriya, four of the biggest names in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu cinema.

The biopic "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect," directed by R. Madhavan, about Indian space scientist Nambi Narayanan, is ranked No. 6 on the list, right behind the unexpected superhit "Kantara," starring Rishab Shetty.

Another biopic on the list, "Major," is based on Indian Army Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who gave his life during the Mumbai assaults on 26/11 for his country. It is currently at No. 7.

Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandana, debuted at No. 8 on the charts, ahead of Mani Ratnam's masterpiece Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 and 777 Charlie, respectively.

According to IMDb, the most watched Indian web series is "Panchayat," which is followed by "Delhi Crime," "Rocket Boys," and "Human" in that order.
